Android Swype Port over to Apple iPhone

Wyndwarrior, a successful iPhone developer, has released a version of Android’s Swype typing software for the iPhone. You must be jailbroken to use the tweak, but this shouldn’t be a problem with the new JailbreakMe 3.0 jailbreak that was released a couple of days ago.

For those who haven’t heard of Swype, it’s essentially a faster way of typing on your smartphone because you never need to lift your finger.

He notes that this is a beta version of his port, and therefore will not work perfectly. At the moment, there is no blue line that appears and it does not work in AppStore or Cydia downloaded applications (however he is working on a fix for this as we speak).

You can download the Swype.deb file from HERE. To install it, you’ll need to either use SSH or iFile (which can be downloaded from Cydia for free). Move the .deb file onto your iPhone, open up iFile.app and click on the .deb file. You’ll then get the option to install it. After installing, do not forget to respring or restart your iDevice. In a century past, an obscure fantasy novel emerged from the ever-churning seas of book publishing where an infinity of stories drown unread.
