Fieldrunners HD for Android, Free Download For first 24 hours

Fieldrunners is a popular tower defense game which is one of the top-selling apps for iOS. Last week the developers announced they were ready to launch an Android version… but the launch promotion ran into a little difficulty. Now a week later, the Fieldrunners team has announced that the Android app will launch at 12:00AM Pacific time on July 7th.

For the first 24 hours, you’ll be able to download the app for free from the Amazon Appstore. Since only US customers can use Amazon’s marketplace, Fieldrunners HD will also be available from the Android Market for $0.99 on day one. After the promotion ends both stores will charge $2.99 for the game.

Originally the plan had been to make the app available worldwide for free, but the Google Android Market doesn’t let developers switch apps from free to paid or vice versa. [Source: mobiputing.com]
